The desktop applications we sell run entirely on your own computer. They read and write files on your disk, and nothing about what you do inside them is sent to us. There is no BasilBase account inside the software, no analytics SDK and no sync service.
The upside is straightforward: your portfolio, your positions, your shop numbers and your usage habits are simply not ours to lose, leak or be asked for. When a product needs live prices it requests them from a public market-data source; nothing about your holdings travels with the request.
The trade-off is real too, and worth stating plainly. There is no automatic backup, no “open it on your phone”, and if your disk dies your data dies with it. For the kind of tools we make that is the right trade, but it does mean the backup is your job — so make one.
